Dial-a-Ride Service

Each of the five counties in the Mid-Columbia River Gorge region provides dial-a-ride service for anyone who needs a ride. Dial-a-ride buses or vans pick you up at your home and take you wherever you need to go within the service area. In many cases, Gorge TransLink can help you with travel between counties, as well as within the county. Fares vary from no charge to $5.00, depending on the distance traveled and the provider.

To schedule a trip using a dial-a-ride service:

Call the number listed in this guide for your county’s service at least a day before you need to travel. Be ready to provide this information:

• Date and time of appointment or when you need to travel.
• Persons traveling with you and any special needs, such as wheelchair transportation, child seats and oxygen bottles.

Fixed-route service runs regularly on a set schedule. Fixed-route services in the Gorge include:

• Greyhound Lines between The Dalles, Hood River and Portland.
• Weekday bus from Skamania County to Vancouver.
• Weekday bus from Klickitat County to The Dalles and to Hood River.
