Skamania County Transportation Programs
Skamania County Public Transportation provides two transportation programs: DIAL-A-RIDE and TRANSIT, both operated by Skamania County Senior Services.

A transit bus operates Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Bus travels between Carson, WA and the Fisher's Landing Transit Center in Vancouver, WA (intersection of SE 164th Ave and SE Cascade Park Drive, just north of SR 14). -
Transit bus service is open to the general public. No restriction on age or trip purpose.

With 24 hours notice, the transit bus will deviate up to 3/4 miles off Wind River Highway and SR 14 to accommodate persons with disabilities. To request deviation, call (509) 427-3990.

The early morning and evening runs operate Monday - Friday. The mid-day run operates on Friday only.

The Dial-a-Ride program is targeted to persons with disabilities or those who do not have resources to travel to essential appointments.

Dial-A-Ride service provides transportation for Skamania County residents of all ages to medical and social services appointments, as well as essential services Monday through Friday. Transportation to the Skamania County Senior Services meal site is available in a limited area on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.

There are three programs under the Dial-a-Ride umbrella:
MEDICAID TRANSPORTATION: Persons with Medical Coupons through the State of Washington can access this program. Medicaid pays the cost of the trip. Please call 1-800-752-9422 to make Medicaid trip appointments.
SENIOR TRANSPORTATION: Persons age 60 and over can make transportation reservations by calling 509-427-3990. No fares are charged, but donations are gladly accepted.
GENERAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Persons under age 60 can make reservations for transportation by calling 509-427-3990. Fares must be paid to ride. Fare assistance may be available for low-income persons under age 60. -
Rides must be scheduled in advance for all dial-a-ride services, preferably at least two days in advance.

The Dial-a-Ride program provides services using a variety of vehicles including ADA accessible buses and mini-vans and volunteer drivers using their own vehicles. Several destinations and passengers may be combined into a single trip.

Priority for scheduling trips will be given to passengers needing rides to medical and social services appointments. Shopping and financial trips will be arranged on a space-available basis.

Dial-a-ride service is provided within Skamania County and travels to White Salmon, The Dalles, Hood River, and the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area.
